L'Oréal Unveils Cell BioPrint at CES Las Vegas
L'Oréal has unveiled Cell BioPrint, a new portable skin analysis tool, at the CES Technology show in Las Vegas. This innovative device can assess a skin sample collected from the user to determine biological age and predict responsiveness to various cosmetic ingredients. By identifying potential skin issues before they become visible, Cell BioPrint empowers users to address their skincare needs and take preventative measures proactively. Cell BioPrint, developed with Korean startup NanoEnTek, will be integrated with L'Oréal's existing Skin Connect AI platform, which analyzes facial images, to provide highly personalized skincare recommendations. A pilot program will be launched later this year in the Asian market.

Prada Rumored to Be Evaluating Versace Acquisition
Prada has been rumored to be one potential suitor for the acquisition of Versace, currently under Capri Holding ownership, following the failed Tapestry/Capri merger. The luxury group may be working with financial and legal advisers, including Citi. However, both reps for Prada and Citi declined to comment.

With pioneering sponsorships, supporting renowned racing teams like Ferrari and McLaren, Tag Heuer previously served as the official timekeeper of the championship from 1992 to 2003.

Private Equity Firm L Catterton has acquired Kapital, the renowned Japanese denim brand. This acquisition, which was not officially announced, came to light through online discussions after L Catterton listed Kapital on their website as a majority-owned brand. Kapital, known for its unique aesthetic, has a limited distribution, primarily focused on Japan. However, its distinctive Boro denim and Americana-inspired designs have cultivated a strong global presence. Collaborations with Kim Jones for Louis Vuitton and the brand's popularity among celebrities such as Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky have significantly increased its global visibility.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Appoints Jason Montague to Lead Luxury Expansion
Cruise company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) has appointed Jason Montague as chief luxury officer, effective February 17, 2025. In this newly created role, Montague will oversee the operations of NCLH's top-end subsidiaries, including Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises, which he previously led. With over 10 years of experience within NCLH, Montague brings extensive knowledge from the luxury industry. This leadership change reflects NCLH's strategic focus on enhancing its luxury cruise offerings and solidifying its position as a leader in the high-end market amidst its ongoing fleet expansion, which includes the construction of five new ships and the renovation of existing vessels.

Acon Investments Takes Over True Religion
Private equity firm Acon Investments has acquired a majority stake in denim brand True Religion. Private Equity firm SB360 Capital Partners also took part in the deal. This acquisition aims to fuel the brand's growth by expanding its product offerings, increasing its global presence, and enhancing its digital and retail capabilities while allowing True Religion to operate independently. The denim brand filed for bankruptcy 5 years ago but has staged a successful comeback by capitalizing on its historical ties to hip-hop culture with sales reaching $280 million in 2023.

Equinox Hotels Focus on Guests Wellness
Equinox Hotels, the hospitality arm of American luxury fitness club Equinox, has partnered with sleep scientist Dr. Matthew Walker to enhance its wellness offerings. This collaboration aims to elevate the guest experience by incorporating science-backed sleep innovations into the hotel environment with key initiatives such as the establishment of the Equinox Hotels Sleep Lab at their New York location, where guests can participate in sleep studies. Furthermore, guest rooms will be redesigned with state-of-the-art sleep technologies and optimized environments based on Dr. Walker's expertise. To further enhance the guest experience, Equinox Hotels will launch a digital tool to help travelers mitigate the effects of jet lag.
