Pomellato Opens First Boutique in Geneva
Pomellato, the Milanese luxury jeweler, has broadened its retail footprint beyond Italy by opening its first directly managed boutique in Geneva, Switzerland. Located on Rue du Rhône, the store offers Pomellato's current collections in a bespoke space designed with high-end, custom furniture and fixtures inspired by 1960s and 70s Italian design. A private salon provides personalized service, and the company is pursuing LEED Platinum certification for the store, underscoring its commitment to sustainable luxury.

L'Oréal Announces FY 2024 Results and Acquisition of Stake in Jacquemus
Beauty conglomerate L'Oréal has reported a 5.1% like-for-like sales increase to €43.48 billion for 2024, with Q4 growth at 2.5%, achieving higher growth than the global beauty market. L’ Oréal Professional Products grew 5%, led by Kérastase whereas Consumer Products increased 5.3% and the Luxe division rose 4.5%, with double-digit growth outside North Asia. Dermatological Beauty surged 9.3%, driven by La Roche-Posay and CeraVe. European sales advanced 9.3%, North America grew 5.9%, SAPMENA-SSA saw a 12% increase and Latin America reported a 13.3% increase, fueled by strong performances across various brands and categories. Separately, the beauty giant just announced it has taken a minority stake in popular French luxury brand Jacquemus, as part of a long-term beauty partnership with the brand. This follows founder Simon Porte Jacquemus' announcement last year, that the brand was looking for a minority investor to help the label grow.

Sabato De Sarno Parts Ways with Gucci
Sabato De Sarno has departed from Gucci after 2 years as a creative director. Former Valentino fashion director, De Sarno was appointed in 2022, following the departure of Alessandro Michele in November of that year. The Gucci design studio will present the brand's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection at Milan Fashion Week on February 25th, while a new creative director is expected to be named.

Saudi Arabia Unveils Dream of the Desert
Saudi Arabia has entered the luxury rail travel market alongside established names like the Venice Simplon Orient Express and the Britannic Explorer with Dream of the Desert. Designed by architect Aline Asmar from Amman and in partnership with Arsenale, an Italian luxury hospitality company, and the Saudi Railways Company (SAR), the 5-star train will carry its first passengers by 2026. Featuring 14 cars, including 34 luxurious suites, the train will travel through the country's most iconic tourist destinations, from Riyadh to Qurayyat, offering a curated experience showcasing local goods and traditional Saudi Arabian culture.

Alo Yoga Brings Wellness to London Fashion Week
Alo Yoga has returned as the Official Wellness Partner of London Fashion Week, offering attendees a 4-day wellness sanctuary named "Alo Oasis," at 1 Hotel Mayfair. This escape from the fast-paced fashion week schedule blends wellness and fashion, featuring movement and mindfulness classes led by Alo instructors. A curated program also includes a wellness-focused menu and holistic beauty treatments. Alo has partnered as well with brands like Solice Health, REVIV, and 111SKIN to provide a range of services. The Alo Oasis will also host the official London Fashion Week Models Lounge in partnership with the British Fashion Council.

Marco Gobbetti Departs Ferragamo
Salvatore Ferragamo CEO Marco Gobbetti will step down next month after a 3-year tenure marked by a challenging post-Covid environment. The company has begun its search for a new CEO, with Chairman Leonardo Ferragamo assuming executive powers in the interim, supported by an advisory committee. Ferragamo has reported an 8.2% revenue drop for 2024, following a similar decline in 2023.

Equinox Hotel Partners with Stripes Beauty for Menopause Wellness
Equinox Hotels has partnered with Naomi Watts' Stripes Beauty to launch a menopause-focused wellness program at its New York location. The program centers around "Pause + Renew," a 2.5-hour treatment for £650 combining body shaping therapy, a facial with scalp massage, and a CoQ10 booster shot, based on Stripes Beauty products that will be available in hotel rooms as well. A launch event hosted by Watts in February will shed light on normalizing the conversation around menopause.

Orient Express Unveils 2 New Sailing Yachts
Orient Express has expanded its luxury travel offerings into the maritime sector with two new vessels, the Orient Express Corinthian, the world's largest sailing yacht, and the Orient Express Olympian. The company recently celebrated the keel laying and steel cutting for these yachts at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France. The Corinthian and Olympian are set to sail in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
