Strengthen Your Retail Foundations with Expert Insights

Luxury brands often face hidden challenges in maintaining seamless in-store operations. We bridge this gap with Retail Assessments that integrate the perspective of an experienced Luxury Retail Expert in addition to our Customer and Employee Experience evaluations. These assessments provide an objective, credible view into your retail environment—examining both physical and human elements such as visual merchandising, customer experience delivered, store atmosphere, team dynamics, service excellence and luxury standards.

We offer four tailored assessment types to suit varying needs: Store Observations provide a top-line view of current retail fundamentals; Luxury Touch Assessments that involve a short undercover visit to evaluate the customer experience against brand expectations or competitors; Deep Dive Audits to take a closer look at back-of-house operations, team dynamics, and management effectiveness; and Performance Immersions that place our experts in-store for multiple days to assess, act, and test on-the-spot improvements that impact key performance indicators.

By seeing your retail reality through the eyes of an expert, you gain actionable insights and realistic recommendations that elevate the in-store experience and drive long-term retail excellence.

FAQ

How does this differ to your Customer Experience Evaluations?

These assessments are led by seasoned retail experts with 15+ years in luxury retail, coaching, training, and management. Unlike customers, they provide a professional, objective view, focusing on what they observe as experts, not how they felt as customers.

They assess beyond client interaction, offering in-depth, retail-focused insights. Unlike Customer Experience Evaluations, expert visits can be announced, enabling them to behind-the-scenes access, observing experience delivery, assess how the brand supporting materials are being used, engage with the teams, spending much more time in store.

These visits complement CX Evaluations by offering a more analytical, expert perspective.

Who will be conducting these assessments? What prior experience do your experts have?

These assessments are conducted exclusively by experienced retail experts, either CXG in-house professionals or external specialists. Each has a minimum of 15 years’ experience in luxury retail, management, training, or coaching roles across sectors such as fashion, watches and jewelry, or cosmetics. Most have hands-on experience working in retail, managing stores, or overseeing retail networks. Experts are selected for each project based on their background, local market insights, and industry expertise.

How do you ensure consistency across global programs with multiple visits?

Global programs are managed by a centralized project team. Before starting their assessments, retail auditors are briefed and onboarded during a global project kick-off led by a dedicated project manager, ensuring consistent expectations. Assessment criteria are developed with the global executive summary in mind, while also accounting for regional and store-specific nuances. All reports undergo thorough quality proofreading.

How quickly would you be able to set up a program?

Project set-up time depends on the type of retail assessment. For store observations and performance immersions, these can be set up in as little as 2 weeks. For Luxury touch assessments and deep dive audits, the set up can be set up in 4-8 weeks.
